Social media tips for Newfoundland businesses
Social media works for local businesses when it sounds like the business and shows up often enough that people remember you. It does not need a post on every platform every day.
From St. John's, Jellybean Row Marketing handles social media management: content, scheduling, and community replies on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn. These notes are the same advice we give before a project starts.
Pick the places you can keep
Facebook and Instagram are the usual pair for shops, trades, clinics, and restaurants around St. John's, Mount Pearl, Paradise, and Conception Bay South. TikTok is worth it if you can show the work on video. LinkedIn fits professional services. Two platforms done properly beat four that go quiet in February.
Show the real business
Post the work, the place, and the people. A finished job, a look at the shop, and a straight explanation of what you offer are more useful than a generic quote card. Write the way you talk to a customer at the counter. If you need graphics, video, or captions made for you, that is the content side of the work.
Reply
Comments and messages are part of the marketing, not an afterthought. A slow reply is a lost job. On plans that include community management, we handle those replies. If you are doing it yourself, check messages as often as you check the phone.
Use ads when you want to reach further
Organic posts reach the people who already follow you. Facebook, Instagram, and Google ads reach people who fit the business but have not found you yet. That is a separate job, with its own budget paid to the platform. If you want it managed, start with a quote on the ads page.
